Ending spam plague, Rozmic protects leading estate agent Sanderson Young
17 August 2007
A leading North East estate agent has found the answer to mounting email spam and the threat of viruses on its doorstep. Sanderson Young has offices in Gosforth. The Quayside, Ponteland, Alnwick and Mayfair, London.
Managing Director Duncan Young became concerned that his 65 staff were spending up to half an hour every morning identifying, then deleting unsolicited spam emails that had arrived from around the world during the night. Spam would continue to arrive during the working day causing frustration as tasks were interrupted
Every Monday morning two days and three nights worth of junk email would arrive on staff desktops. The problem was compounded since genuine property vendors or seekers would write unusual headers into legitimate email. The header “My dream home” could as easily be from someone wishing to relocate to the North East as from a spammer selling US securities.
Duncan Young says;
“I found many of my staff were starting their day wading through unsolicited offers from a wide range of spammers worldwide. This would cause frustration at the start of the day and since it took on average half an hour to deal with, it was costing the company money. Something had to be done”.
Sanderson Young turned to Rozmic Spam and Virus Firewall, a unique anti-spam and virus system launched worldwide in September 2006 by Gateshead based Rozmic Wireless.
The Rozmic Spam and Virus Firewall is installed on a dedicated server located in Sanderson Young head office and all email is scanned before it reaches the recipients desktop. All Rozmic Spam and Virus Firewall servers are monitored in real time by technicians around the world so data and statistics from all companies using the system help build a pattern of traffic.
This means Rozmic can predict, and prevent spam or virus attacks as they happen. If, for example one thousand users send the same attachment from PCs around the world, Rozmic will know something is wrong and head off the attack.
Ross Cooney, Managing Director with Rozmic Wireless says:
“Rozmic Spam and Virus Firewall was developed here in the North East and we are always delighted to work with clients in our region. The exponential growth in spam means the more successful a company, the higher its web profile, the worse the problem will get. Now Sanderson Young employees can concentrate upon what they do best rather than spending time fielding questionable spam offers”.
In 2003 Ross Cooney setup Netcleanse and Gwavix, the driving technology behind Rozmic Spam and Virus Firewall and one of the most effective spam and virus protection systems on the market. In 2005 Ross Clooney setup Rozmic Wireless Ltd, a software development company specialising in data transfer and mobile communications. Rozmic Wireless built up a team of talented developers and released their first set of products in May 2006.
